I'm thrilled to announce that I have been selected as the very lucky recipient of an international residency from the Australia Council. I'll be flying to Rome in August to take up a six-month residency in the BR Whiting Studio in Rome! Massive thanks to the Australia Council for this incredible opportunity!
I'm very excited to announce that The Strays has been shortlisted for the Historical Writers' Association's Debut Fiction award!

I've just taken up a fellowship at Varuna writers house in the Blue Mountains. Two weeks in this haven of quiet and creativity, with a room to write in during the day, delicious home-cooked dinners and other writers to talk with in the evenings. Heaven!
I've got a piece in this weekend's Sydney Morning Herald. I was invited to write about the female Australian writers who influenced me, and I couldn't write about those influences without also recalling the lecturer who first brought so many of them to my attention and made me want to write myself.
I've just got back from a residency at the incredible McCraith house in Dromana as part of the 'Women Writers in the City' program hosted by RMIT. The second part of the program will involve time in their Urban Writing House and a mentorship with fabulous emerging writer Kat Clarke.
